Domain - Adding an existing domain (DNS Nameservers Update)

If you already own a domain name with another registrar, and you would like to use your existing domain name with your Pokform website, when signing up to a Pokform hosting account select the option 'I will update my nameservers on an existing domain Or I will register a new domain'.

With this option you will keep the registration of your domain with your current registrar, the DNS nameservers setting update will point your domain to the Pokform servers for hosting and email services.

To update the DNS (nameservers) setting for your domain;

1, Log-in to your domain registrars control panel, your domains DNS setting is usually under 'DNS Admin'.

2, Modify your domains DNS setting to those provided within the 'New Account Information' email you have received when setting up your account with Pokform LTD.

3, Once your domains DNS setting has been updated it will take 24-48 hours for the change to propagate through the internet.

4, Once your DNS modification has propagated through the internet, and your domain is resolving to your hosting space with Pokform LTD, your licensed version Pokform website will be setup at your domain name.

Please note;
When adding an existing domain name that you have registered with a third party registrar, Pokform LTD cannot update your domains DNS setting for you, only a domains owner has access to modify the DNS setting for their domain, if you require assistance to modify your domains DNS setting we recommend to contact your current domain registrar and request that they update the DNS setting for you.

Additional email account info;
If you currently have email accounts setup with your domain name at your previous hosting, the best course of action is to log-in to the Plesk server control panel that we provide, using the details in the 'New Account Information' email, and setup the same email addresses that you have setup at your previous hosting before updating your domains DNS setting (the email accounts are always tied to the domain name).

When the DNS update propagates, if you have the same email accounts setup on the new hosting as you had on your previous hosting you will not drop any incoming emails, please note however any emails you have stored on your previous hosting server will not be transferred, for archival purposes emails should be downloaded to your computer before updating the DNS setting.
